Tis the season for high school graduation. The sun is shining, the birds are chirping, and final exams are almost underway, leaving many graduating seniors with feelings of excitement and anxiety about the new life they'll be starting in the fall.

Making the transition from high school to college can be a truly challenging experience, but with some planning and a little advice, you can make the switch effortlessly.

1. It's not about the material anymore.

In high school, classes were about memorizing material: formulas, definitions, translations, and the like. College isn't necessarily about that.

Your college classes are not only meant to serve your intellectual needs of gaining knowledge, but also are intended to provide insight into yourself and the world around you. Your instructors will expect your knowledge to grow more organically than it did in high school.

This doesn't mean that the classes you take shouldn't be taken seriously, either. Look for deeper meaning in the material that you read in your college courses. How does the material that you're studying relate to the rest of the world? Current events? National trends?

2. Know your instructors.

Guess what. College professors don't make that much money. Yes, they can make a living, but most college instructors, especially full-time faculty (i.e. - not guest lecturers or special lecturers), teach because they want to teach. They are typically very passionate about whatever it is that they are teaching, and doing it is not a burden for them, as long as you share their passions (or appear to).

In high school, you could get away with taking classes that you hated and just showing up for a grade. It won't usually work that way in a college classroom. Get to know your instructors, their likes and dislikes, their pet peeves, and their teaching style.

Some will be lenient when it comes to due dates and emailing assignments in late, while some will specify a date and time to have an assignment to their office with a staple 2/3″ from the upper left-hand corner at a 48-degree angle. Don't complain, just comply and smile.

3. Be responsible for yourself.

Many instructors will not take attendance for a class. Few will keep track of tardiness; almost none will chastise you to turn in late or missing work. Be responsible.

Keep a planner with all of your assignments as well as your personal appointments, activities, work, and volunteer schedules. You can purchase a year-long planner for under $10 from your school's bookstore or even a supermarket. If you have one, a PDA, smartphone, or laptop computer can do the same things, but it sometimes takes more commitment to keep information up to date and keep your electronic device charged and ready for easy reference.

If you know that you have a class scheduled at the same time your research group is getting together to work on a presentation, something's got to give. No one will tell you what to do, so figure out which is of higher priority and make arrangements. We're adults now, and sometimes adults have to “juggle” a little. Don't stress out about it.

4. Give yourself some breathing room.

The tendency amongst many freshman students is to absolutely smother themselves with homework, studying, and extracurricular activities. Don't do it!

Being a student is hard work, and finding time for a little rest and relaxation is necessary. Remember that planner from Tip #3? Use it to schedule some time off. Plan a night of television viewing, a date with a friend or romantic interest, or even a nice long nap.

If you know you have 3 substantial exams in one week, spread out your study time and plan on allowing several hours of non-studying before you actually take the test. You'll be surprised at how fresh you feel when you're filling out your exam copy.

5. Get used to it.

Yeah, college is a big adjustment. Making that adjustment from high school to college can be treacherous, but don't lose heart or give up.

Remember, this will be your life for at least the next four years. Get used to it. With proper adjustment and a positive attitude, you can make the switch without all of the stress.

Good luck as you search out success in your college transition!

After years of studying hard to get a better future, the question generally in most graduate’s mind is simply the similar “WHAT'S NEXT?” This question keeps a never-ending reply that if you already have choices, you do not know what to pick. Within a closer point of view, standard family within the instant exposed that many are dissatisfied, lonely, dissatisfy as well as in hunger. A few are so frustrated with the living they are in; which they have given up and forgot the significance of wish.

That's the reason almost all young children presently think it is very easy to wish big of what the need to be and to carry out when they mature. Yet since time flies, these young children might little by little recognize that life’s tests leads to their dreams to interrupt into pieces. Frustrations, disappointments and bitterness would cover up the vibrant and colorful dreams of their early days.

Indeed, we've got no control above a few situations and stuff that happen to us in our routine lives, might it's unsatisfying or even a satisfied one. We will have selections, both to live in hurt and agony or to stand up and move on with life. Furthermore, everybody knows that there's a much Greater Force that leads us towards much better and a brighter future as we let it go with the past and live in the current.

Disillusionment will never depart us, it will constantly cross our paths in the future however despite that we could even now decide to take pleasure in each day since it comes and not to dwell on the things which we can't ever modify. As we amend our perspective in life, we should also think about the existence of the Greater Force which has the ability to change the specific situation that we're in. And with that, hope re-ignites once again for us to be able to begin dreaming once again. The optimism, joy and a pleasant dream will take us via difficult times as we look ahead and never give up again.

Hey everyone and welcome to my blog. I'm glad to begin this journey with my blog. In the distant past, I've had blogs that I used to pen down my thoughts about the the world, science and any other interesting happening in my life. But I gave those up soon after.

Now, I'm hoping to have a better chance on blogging with more life experiences and I hope more interesting subjects to write about. I hope to one day maybe have to migrate to a domain of my own, and have my blog become known one day.

Travelling has been an major part of my life for about two decades now. I've spent time in virtually every part of the world, Asia, Europe, America, and so on. I see myself as a seasoned traveller, and I have had lots of experiences around the globe. Whenever I travel, I have my computer with me, as I find it unrenounceable, especially with writing notes on the go. I like to take out my laptop, open it up with a nice hot cup of tea, and then just read the latest news from around the globe, or start writing down my thoughts as I sip on some nice, tea.

One thing that troubles me frequently is politics. Normally, international policy discussions that happen at government levels seem distant and remote, but they have real impact on our daily lives. I hope to cover some of this in my blogging as well. On the other hand, I'm pretty much into gadgets and I enjoy to read, so I'm sure I will have several blog posts about those topics too. I'm reading a book about business right now, and I normally read another book every few weeks. I find the change in perspective engaging and fresh, and I like how you can get new ideas from reading books.

I hope you'll find my blog an enjoyable read, and I look forward to going through this journey with all of you.
